Die Moore der Welt spielen f\u00fcr den Klimaschutz eine bedeutende Rolle, denn sie speichern eine riesige Menge Kohlenstoff.<\/p>\n

Auch die kleinteiligen Hang- und Quellmoore im Ebbegebirge <\/a><\/strong>leisten hierzu einen kleinen Beitrag. Bedeutungsvoller ist jedoch die seltene Flora und Fauna, der bis zu 5500 Jahre alten und bis zu 1,45 m m\u00e4chtigen Moore. Das k\u00fchl-feuchte Klima mit hohen Jahresniederschl\u00e4gen, zeitweise schneereichen Wintern und dies bei einer H\u00f6henlage von 600 m \u00fcNN f\u00fchren zu einem besonderen Mikroklima. Deshalb sind in den Ebbemooren Pflanzen des atlantischen milden und arktisch-nordischen Klimas zu finden. Mit dem zarten Laub der Karpatenbirke erwachen die Moore Ende April aus dem Winter. Ab Mai entwickelt sich bei ausreichend Niederschlag ein gr\u00fcner Teppich aus Gr\u00e4sern, Binsen und Torfmoosen. Sp\u00e4ter wehen die Fruchtst\u00e4nde des Wollgrases im Wind und vereinzelt sind die gelben Bl\u00fcten der Moorlilien zusehen.<\/p>\n

Die Ebbemoore <\/a>sind Bestandteil eines gro\u00dfen Naturschutzgebietes \u201eAuf\u2019m Ebbe\u201c<\/a>, welches sich \u00fcber die Gemeinde Herscheid<\/strong> <\/a>und die Stadt Meinerzhagen<\/strong> <\/a>erstreckt. Da sie nicht betreten werden d\u00fcrfen, werden nun Flora und Fauna auf gro\u00dfformatigen Informationstafeln im Rahmen des Moorpfades dargestellt. Den Besucher erwarten Informationen zu den Themen Gef\u00e4hrdung und Pflege der Moore, Bedeutung f\u00fcr den Klimaschutz und Mystik der Moore.<\/p>\n

Der Rundwanderweg hat eine L\u00e4nge von 4,7 km und f\u00fchrt \u00fcber befestigte Forstwege. Er beginnt am Wanderparkplatz <\/a>Meinerzhagen Stoltenberg, der nach kurzer Fahrt von der A45 – Ausfahrt Meinerzhagen – zu erreichen ist. In der Wandersaison wird der Moorpfad ab Haltestelle Meinerzhagen \u201eWillertshagener Schule\u201c mit dem NahTour-Bus <\/a>angebunden.<\/p>\n
