September 1990 fa\u00dfte der Ministerrat der DDR auf seiner letzten Sitzung kurz vor Mitternacht einen historischen Beschlu\u00df &#8211; das Nationalparkprogramm der DDR.<\/p>\n<p>Buchst\u00e4blich in letzter Minute als letzter Beschlu\u00df fiel die f\u00fcr den Naturschutz in Ostdeutschland so wichtige Entscheidung. W\u00e4hrend sich die Mehrheit der B\u00fcrger im Osten in dieser Umbruchzeit auf die Wiedervereinigung und Einf\u00fchrung der D-Mark konzentrierte, erkannten vier mutige M\u00e4nner die historische Chance gro\u00dfr\u00e4umige Schutzgebiete zu etablieren.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Succow, Matthias Freude, Lebrecht Jeschke und Hannes Knapp bereiteten zusammen mit einer Vielzahl ehrenamtlich im Naturschutz engagierter Mitarbeiter den Beschlu\u00df zur dauerhaften Sicherung des &#8222;Tafelsilbers der deutschen Einheit&#8220; vor.<\/p>\n<p>In Brandenburg wurden so die Biosph\u00e4renreservate Spreewald und Schorfheide-Chorin sowie der Naturpark M\u00e4rkische Schweiz ausgewiesen. Damit wurde der Grundstein f\u00fcr das heutige System der Nationalen Naturlandschaften Brandenburgs mit einem Nationalpark, drei Biosph\u00e4renreservaten und elf Naturparken gelegt. Der Naturpark Stechlin-Ruppiner Land geh\u00f6rt als j\u00fcngstes Gro\u00dfschutzgebiet Brandenburgs seit 2001 zu dieser Familie.<\/p>\n<p>Im Rahmen einer Festveranstaltung in L\u00fcbbenau wurde das Jubil\u00e4um im Beisein von Brandenburgs Umweltminister J\u00f6rg Vogels\u00e4nger am 11. September feierlich gew\u00fcrdigt.
