Sie ist ein wichtiges Merkmal der Gew\u00e4sserg\u00fcte, das jeder leicht bestimmen kann. Daf\u00fcr stellen die Neuglobsower Limnologen sogenannte Secchi-Scheiben bereit, die beim Bootsverleih ausgeliehen werden k\u00f6nnen. Die wei\u00dfe Scheibe mit Schnur wird solange in die Tiefe abgesenkt, bis sie nicht mehr sichtbar ist. Sobald sie dann beim Hochziehen gerade wieder zu erkennen ist, wird die Schnurl\u00e4nge zwischen Scheibe und Wasseroberfl\u00e4che gemessen. Sie entspricht der Sichttiefe.
