Die nach ihm benannte Vahldiekstra\u00dfe in Eutin w\u00fcrdigt dies.<\/p>\n<p>Die Sorte wurde dann im Pomologischen Institut gez\u00fcchtet und 1959 auf der Bundesgartenschau als bester Apfel gek\u00fcrt. Bis dahin hie\u00df er Vahldieks Dickstiel, wurde dann umbenannt zum Holsteiner Cox. (Hat nichts mit der Sorte Cox Orange gemeinsam). Der Holsteiner Cox ist bis heute in Ostholstein die Hauptsorte.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201e<\/em>Wir von der Obsthof Brennerei und Lik\u00f6rmanufaktur Axel M\u00fcnster brennen aus diesem aromatischen Apfel unseren Holsteiner Cox Brand.
